It’s also a place to weigh options, choices, learn new ways to approach situations and develop coping skills to deal with challenges in your life.
Counseling is not a punishment or a way to assign blame or fault for how you handled things in the past. It’s about identifying ways to handle things differently. Counseling does involve work and commitment to pursue change.
Counseling is not an easy cure or a quick fix and change is not guaranteed through counseling. Counseling gives options for changing the way you are handling your life but you decide how committed you are to trying new ways and working to maintain change.
